Annual BBQ

BBQ is taking place on the 28th of July – we are slightly down on last year’s numbers, with approximately 50 planning to attend this year.

Meat to be ordered, the rest of the food is sorted with people knowing what to bring.

Help is required to set up and take down the marquee. Saturday 28th at 9.30am to set up and 10.00am on Sunday the 29th to take it down. Your assistance is required.

Chinnor Open Gardens representative, Jackie Gunn has been invited to the BBQ. Thanks to COG for their generous grant to CAGA, to repair and improve the fabric of the hut. Photographs to be provided to COG to demonstrate the “before and after”.

Allotment Judging

Judging has been completed.

The cups are on site and names are to be added ahead of the BBQ.

Option for next year is to ask allotment holders if they want to be entered into the annual allotment competitions? The question is to be posed on the annual renewal form.

Allotment Rents

Discussion on potential to increase allotment rents. The main reason is to pay for additional work required to maintain the fabric of the overall allotment site. The suggestion is to ring fence any amount raised and identify the sum for plot clearance, site maintenance etc.

Also consider if there is a need for any concessions?

Also consider if the fee for Associate Members should increase?

Subjects to be raised formally at the AGM.

Noted the need for a business card for identifying Associate Members, sign up is to be rationalised to fit in with the annual rent increase for allotments.

Some ongoing issues with the alarm, possibly weather related. Options are being considered, such as moving the box to a different place, or re-site on a separate block of wood.
