Minutes of CAGA Meeting on 21st July 2021 at the DC

Minutes of the last meeting were approved. 

 

 

Equipment Loan Disclaimer

Reminder: The decision has been taken to withdraw all the allotment equipment from non-committee members use.

 

Finance

 

 

Money in the bank stands at £12,882.32

There are no bills outstanding at current date.

Sandy is now in receipt of banking paperwork and should be an additional signatory in due course.

An AGM meeting is to be arranged for October. Bryan will contact the Village Centre to book a room.

Shop

The shop has now re-opened.

 Please Note:  You will need to wear a face mask and entry will be limited to a maximum of five people at any one time.

Cash payment is acceptable. Alternatively, you can continue to place an order on line with Peter Greenway in the usual way by sending an email to:  pr.greenway@icloud.com and collect the items from the DC on the Sunday morning.

Pete B will be submitting an order for seeds at the end of August for the next growing season.  Otherwise stock levels are fine.

Sandy has purchased a new pair of scissors for the shop.

Sandy will provide a template shop accounting notice to be followed by all those running the shop in order to help administration. Sandy will also explore the cost of a secure cash box for the hut.

The toilet facilities will unfortunately remain closed for the foreseeable future.

The D.C & it’s Future

A sub-committee has been formed, made up of Bryan, Mike and Pete G.  Dave Tomes of Haddenham may attend to assess the job with Bryan and provide a quote. This remains a work in progress.  Finding a suitable contractor is proving difficult currently. A further update is expected at the next meeting.

Plots & Plot Letting

It had been a busy month for Rod and the plot letting sub-committee.

5 plots have been re-let.

Tich has been busy rotavating which may bring another 4 plots back into use.

There are currently 19 people on the plot waiting list.

Many plot number plaques need replacing / updating. Jeanette will undertake a review to assess the numbers that are needed.

Working Party

The date of Saturday 7th August is set for a working party to take place. All plot holders are invited to volunteer between 10 & 12pm if possible.

Work To Do:The main drive will be trimmed back and vacant plots with wood, bricks and general rubbish will be cleared and moved to a collection location prior to a skip being hired to remove it all.

Jeanette will publicise the event on Facebook and Mike will do a newsletter to all plot holders.

Bryan will inform Christine Davies and Jackie Gunn of the intended drive clearance work

Plot holders are reminded that it their responsibility to maintain and cut the paths that surround their plots and those with plots that back onto the boundary fence a 1-meter clear path be maintained.

Main Gates

REMINDER: All plot holders are advised to close the gates upon leaving if they are the last person on the site irrespective if there is a car / bike there or not and whatever the time of day.  All plot holders must have the gate keys with them when attending their allotment. A gate key can be purchased from the shop costing £4.  Please contact Pete Greenway via email:  pr.greenway@icloud.com  to arrange purchase and collection.

Allotment Communal Compost Heap Plot 30F

IMPORTANT:

Effective from Sunday 20th December 2020 Plot 30F, the fire mound and compost heap is CLOSED to all Plot Holders.

With regard to the Compost Heap all plot holders are welcome to help themselves to the compost generated before it is dismantled and spread across plot 30F.

Newsletter opening levels remain low.  Plot Holders are advised to read the newsletter that is sent to them in order to keep up to date with Allotment news and events.

New plot holders will be added to the mailing list.

No Dog Signs

5 signs have been ordered by Rod, measuring 600mm x 450mm at a cost of £9 each approx. They are expected to be delivered on the 9th August.

Empty Gas Bottles

There are several empty gas bottles taking up vital room in the hut.  Bryan will assess what bottles there are and find out who will take them.

10 Willow Road – M Bragger

Complaint received from owner of 10 Willow |Road regarding weeds between boundary fence and his fence.  Matter to be referred to Liz Folley at CPC to action and respond.
